Energy Management and Distributed Energy Resources Cluster Control for Active Distribution Networks

    Abstract:

    The traditional centralized control system used in active distribution network (ADN) with large number of distributed resources integrated into the grid would meet the problems of control agility, system reliability, mass communication and information privacy. A novel architecture of the energy management and operation regulation system for ADN is proposed. There are thee control levels in this hierarchical control system, including distribution controller for renewable energy resource cluster, optimization of the distribution networks incorporated with multi-cluster and coordination operation of integrated transmission & distribution networks. Then, the characteristics of the proposed system and some key technologies about cluster control, multi-level coordination optimization are mainly introduced: ①network analysis technology for ADN, ②distributed cluster control technology, ③active power and reactive coordination optimization technology for distribution network considering uncertainty, ④distributed coordination and dispatching technology for integrated transmission and distribution networks. Finally, the application effect of the proposed system on distributed renewable energy distribution networks is briefly described, and the future research topics are prospected.
